The game
“Sister Angela VS Don Matteo” is a video game created for Lux Vide, a television production company that includes among its productions the TV series “Don Matteo” and the TV series “Che Dio ci aiuti,” broadcast on Rai, whose protagonists are also the characters in our video game.
In the video game with pixel art graphics, Sister Angela and Don Matteo compete in a race in which Don Matteo, with his ever-present bicycle, and Sister Angela, riding a scooter, race along a road, traveling through streets and small towns with the typical colors of central Italy, just like in the TV series they star in. The game mechanics are very fun: it is an endless racing game in which the player can choose which of the two characters to play. Once the character is chosen, the race begins and the player must dodge obstacles and collect as many points as possible. During the game, the player can monitor at the top a summary of points earned, kilometers traveled, and remaining energy.
An interesting detail to discover in the video game is precisely the attention to detail, especially in the settings, where natural landscapes and urban settings of Italian provincial towns have been reproduced in pixel art.
Objectives
“Sister Angela VS Don Matteo” is a video game created to support the launch of the sixth season of the TV series “Che Dio ci aiuti,” a Lux Vide production for Rai.
Already strengthened by the experience with the video game “Don Matteo Special Edition,” the client chose to follow the pixel art stylistic approach and the racing mechanic for the video game dedicated to the TV series “Che Dio ci aiuti,” with the goal of supporting the communication campaign for the launch of the seventh season with an entertaining video game for users.
