The game

“Sfida Alla Pari” is a browser game starring pixel art avatars of the five judges from Canale 5’s TV show “Tú Sí Que Vales”, challenged by a contestant, Marco Andriano, visually impaired since the age of 4, co-founder of Novis Games, our partner in developing the video game.

The video game is a platform game in which characters must jump over obstacles. A visually impaired or blind contestant can play on equal footing with a sighted contestant, thanks to a system of sound cues that signal the presence of obstacles during the match.

Objectives

“Sfida Alla Pari” is a video game created with the goal of inclusivity, of letting everyone play. An ambitious goal that starts with accessibility for visually impaired and blind people through the use of 3D audio.

Thanks to the collaboration between Dinobros and Novis Games, it was possible to take this great step toward accessibility in video games. “Sfida Alla Pari” was a success first and foremost for achieving its primary goal, allowing blind or visually impaired people to play a video game and compete on equal footing with sighted players. In addition, in terms of visibility, the video game was featured on Canale 5 for both its presentation and award ceremony, winning the “Sky Glass” award.
