The game
“Snowball Challenge” is the pixel art video game created for Christmas for the website and app of the children’s TV channel Boing TV Italy and Spain. In a Christmas setting built ad hoc for the video game, the characters from the channel’s most beloved shows were divided into four teams and all customized in Christmas outfits. The first team is made up of Anais, Gumball, and Darwin from “The Amazing World of Gumball,” the second team of J.P., Craig, and Kelsey from “Craig of the Creek,” the third team of the three baby bears from “We Baby Bears,” and the fourth team made up of three members of “Teen Titans Go!” Robin, Cyborg, and Raven.
To play the video game there are two options: single-player or two-player. Once you enter the video game home screen, the first thing to do is select the game mode. At this point you must choose the team to play with and the challenge begins.
The game mechanics require that players take turns throwing snowballs, aiming with the directional dots, with the goal of hitting the opposing team’s characters. When the player throws the snowball, they must pay attention to direction but also to obstacles they may encounter, such as trees and giant snowballs in the trajectory.
If you choose “2-player mode”, you can select both teams and play with two people; you just need to pass the smartphone, tablet, or keyboard to your teammate when it is their turn.
The rounds begin with an indication of which team takes the first shot. Each character on the team starts with 100 points; each time they are hit by a snowball, their points go down until they run out and the character is deactivated. The team that remains with at least one active character wins.
