The game
“The Creek Cup” is a video game featuring the characters from the animated series “Craig of the Creek,” airing on the children’s TV channel Boing TV Italy and Spain.
The setting and characters were recreated in pixel art for the video game, maintaining strong recognizability with the animated series.
In the video game, the user is taken inside the cartoon, on the banks of the famous creek. Here, a team challenge comes to life, like a real soccer match.
A few clear rules: watch the time, after two yellow cards comes a red card, whoever scores 3 goals wins.
To play, the user in the role of Craig must use the directional dots to pass the ball to Kelsey. If they hit it, the user in the role of Kelsey must again direct the ball toward J.P. to score. If the user fails to pass the ball to their teammate, the opponent will take it and go for a shot on goal. When the opponent shoots the ball at goal, the player must choose how to save it: left, center, or right. The team that first reaches 3 goals wins, and the final score is shown for each match.
Objectives
The video game “The Creek Cup” was created for the website and app of the Boing TV channel (Italy and Spain). The objective of the video game was to ride the interest in soccer in conjunction with the 2021 UEFA European Football Championship, then as long-term goals, contribute to the show’s awareness and increase the average time spent on the client’s website and app.
