The game
“The Boing Tree” is the 2020 Christmas video game created for the Boing TV website and app, the children’s television channel. With a simple and essential graphic style that recalls the colors and symbols of Christmas, the video game features Boing TV’s two mascots, Bo and Bobo, as the protagonists.
The aim of the game is to help mascots Bo and Bobo complete Boing TV’s Christmas tree. To build the tree, the player must complete the four mini-games connected to Christmas decorations in the shortest time possible: the “candy cane,” the “ice crystal,” the “Christmas bauble,” and the “Christmas gift box.”
Each mini-game has a different mechanic. In the mini-game connected to the “candy cane,” the player must move the mascot around the play area to catch the candy canes and gingerbread men that appear, being careful not to accidentally pick up vegetables.
In the mini-game connected to the “ice crystal,” by moving the Boing TV mascot left and right, the player must try to collect as many ice crystals as possible while avoiding the chili peppers.
In the mini-game linked to the “Christmas gift box,” the player is inside a click-game mechanic in which they must click on the mascot as quickly as possible to score more points and retrieve the “Christmas gift box” as a tree decoration.
Finally, in the mini-game connected to the “Christmas bauble” decoration, the player must catch Christmas baubles on the fly by making them bounce, being careful not to catch the spheres.
Once the four mini-games are completed and the decorations are recovered, “The Boing Alberto” is ready!
