The game

Boing Natale The Game” is the Christmas-themed video game created in 2021 for the website and app of the children’s TV channel Boing TV.

The game mechanics are simple and intuitive: it is a fun puzzle game in which the player’s task is to rebuild the 16-bit avatar of the Boing TV mascot by placing the various pieces in the right spot. In front of an empty outline, the user can find the individual pieces by sliding the arrow at the bottom, to the right or to the left, clicking on a single piece and dragging it into the outline in its corresponding position. If the spot is correct, the piece is placed and the player can move on to the next piece to arrange. Players can monitor how long it takes them to complete the puzzle thanks to a game timer positioned at the top of the screen.

The video game was created entirely in pixel art. In a Christmas setting created ad hoc for the video game homepage, the most beloved characters from Boing TV cartoons were rendered in 16-bit, including the bears from “We Bare Bears,” the protagonists of “The Amazing World of Gumball,” and the “Teen Titans Go!”

In addition to the beloved cartoon protagonists, the Boing channel mascots Bo and Bobo were also customized in pixel art.

Objectives

The video game “Boing Natale The Game” was launched during the Christmas period to support the production of Christmas-themed content and to entertain young players with a fun and simple video game. In addition, the goal of the video game is also to increase time spent on the client’s website and app.
