The game

“8-Bit Cloud Native” is an advergame we created for Kiratech. The video game is freely accessible from the client’s website and features the user as the protagonist in a hyper-technological environment in which they must prove they are a true “cloud native”. The challenge for the player to win is to fight the monsters of the old era by using a protective shield. The player must protect themselves from the falling monsters of the old era: Hardware, Mainframe, Application Silos, Virtual Machine, Spaghetti Code, Lasagna Code. In addition to defending themselves, they must also recognize elements of the new era to earn points, such as Pod, Container, Docker, DevOpes, Kubernetes, Microservices. Finally, among the elements of the old and new era, the player must identify the “bonus characters”, including “Jenkis the butler,” “Tekton the cat” and “GitHub the cat,” “AKIT the dog” and “Krateo the dog.”
