The game
“Wild Things The Craziest Woods” is the official video game of the TV show airing on Boing TV, “Wild Things The Craziest Woods.” The video game lets players experience firsthand, in arcade version, the gameplay of the television show.
In fact, the player faces two of the very fun game challenges featured in the show. The mechanics replicate two of the games in the TV program. First, the player must choose which character to play from the different animals available and, just like on TV, will play in pairs with a virtual teammate.
In the first challenge, once the character has been chosen, the player must move through the game course, trying to avoid hitting obstacles, helped by their virtual teammate who will suggest the clear path. The faster they are at following the suggestions, the greater the chances of winning the challenge. Be careful: the faster you perform the suggested moves, the greater the margin of error becomes! This mechanic recreates the game from the TV game show, in which one of the two players (the parent), blindfolded and dressed in a giant animal costume, must proceed through an obstacle course in the dark, following only the teammate’s instructions (the child).
In the second gameplay mechanic, we interpreted and reproduced the final game featured in the show, in which the child gives instructions to the parent (who always plays in the dark in a giant mascot costume) on how to move to avoid being touched by opponents. In the final mini-game of the video game, the player is told which mascot is about to touch them. If the player gets touched, the match is lost; if instead they hold out for the entire time available, the challenge is won.
At the end of each match, the ranking and score achieved are displayed. The video game faithfully reproduces, in pixel art, the set design and characters of the TV show.
Objectives
The video game “Wild Things The Craziest Woods” was created to support the communication of the TV show and faithfully reproduces its gameplay mechanics and set design with an 8-bit graphic layout. The video game is available on the Boing TV website and on the Boing App, and aims to entertain users with a pixel-art video game that reproduces the TV show, increasing awareness of the show and the channel.
For this video game, in line with the show’s continuity, we created an IG filter that, by applying to the face an image reproducing the muzzle of one of the animals starring in the show, assigns the user to a team.
